Here is todays project
Today we worked on the foundation wall at the front of the house. I was kind of out of my comfort zone on this one, but we seem to muddle through with doing a lot of looking at it and trying to talk ourselves through it. You even get a picture of the old man down in the hole. We finished the one side. We have put a pressure treated 4X4 to finish that side. We will now brace the other side and remove those blocks and put them back in straight and somewhat level! We are going put another 4 X 4 beam about were you see the house jack in the bottom picture. We will put a door between the two wood beams so the there is access to underneath the house. I am kind of worn out tonight from lifting up those blocks!

Another Sunday in Leavittsburg
We have had a busy day and actually feel like we were quite successful! We had the gutters put up at least 2 months ago. The contractor we hired to do the work promised he would come back and put the down spouts on. We have called and threatened and have done anything thing we could think of to get him to come and do the work. He never showed up and it came to the point where he wasn't even answering our calls. We thought about hiring someone else to finish the job, but didn't really want to spend more money on something that we have already paid for. We spent the better part of a month tossing it back an forth whether we were up to doing it ourselves. Last Sunday we cut the holes for the downspouts and let loose all the water that was trapped with no way down! Actually it wasn't that hard and we had everything done in about 3 hours. Before we did the downspouts we put a new side garage door on. That went pretty good, hit a few snags as you always do in those kind of projects. The door shuts and locks, so we are good to go! Here are a few pictures that look a lot like the old ones we have shared, but if you look close you can see the downspouts.
