This almost looks like a tutorial

You can see pretty much what we did today. We had a plan on how to get it done and it is always great when that plan works. You can see we made a pattern and just transferred it to the bead board. What really worked out is we just turned the pattern over to make the cuts on the other side of the window. We got it all trimmed out and filled all the seams. I will paint it on my day off this week
     The last picture is of the tub which we haven't shown you yet as we have been working on the drywall above the tub, which involves joint compound and lots of sanding. This is Michelle's specialty, she has more patience with it than I do!

small project

     This was another small project for today. We put the house numbers up on the house. The heating exhaust used to come through a hole that is covered by the number plate, so we covered up that eye sore! I put the top picture in because it was such a beautiful sky today after an over night light snow. It was only around 20 degrees today, but the sun made it feel warmer!

Todays main project

    Today we spent a major part of our time working on the sides of the bottom and upper cabinets. We had to glue on the side panels which finish off the cabinets. It took a little bit of cutting and then putting contact cement on both the cabinet and the panel, waiting 10 minutes and hoping that you get it on straight. Once you put the two pieces together, you are not going to get them apart. We also put the kick plate along the bottom. We started on the back splash on the one side counter. We will work on the other side next weekend. It came out good!

Here are few pictures to show the progress that has been made this last week. We have a flushing toilet and running water! It is starting to look like a real house now.

a little teaser

    We have had a busy weekend at the project house. It is my long weekend off here. Yesterday we had the floor put in the kitchen, dining room and bathroom. Today Larry is putting in the cabinets and installing the toilet. We should have more pictures later in the week, but here are a few!
