Short work today ... backsplash, lights

We split our work into two short sessions. Yesterday we put up the back splash in behind were the stove is going. Today we painted the back splash and a couple of closet doors. I have included a couple of pictures of lights that I haven't posted yet. The one thing I noticed from the kitchen picture is we sure have a lot of crap laying on the counter. We are just about at the clean up point now.

Let there be lights and curtains and etc!

     We spent the day today hanging closet doors and hanging curtains. We would go over and flip a light switch and stare at the lights as they came on, which was awe inspiring as it has been so long since we have seen that sight over there. We almost went into convulsions when found that we could turn the living room lights off and on from three different light switches! The electrician is coming back in the morning to finish up.

Utility room doors and some window treatments

Here are a few pictures of what we did today. We put the doors on the utility room. We also got doors for the closets in the bedrooms. We got all the hardware on and the doors almost up and figured out we are going to have to  shave some off of the bottom of the doors because of the new carpeting. It was a rainy day today, so will wait for a better weather day where we can take the doors out on the back deck to trim them. We spent the rest of the day hanging curtains.

The carpet is in!

     The carpet is in and the project is starting to look finished. Our elecrician is coming next Friday and we will really be close to being done then. Here are a few pics!

some bathroom work

Today we put together a cabinet that will serve as a linen closet in the bathroom. It was pretty much the usual stress filled time when you ever put together furniture that comes in a box. We got it put together with out having to take it apart till we got to the drawer, then finally figured that out and no problems after that. We shimmed it so it was flush to the wall and anchored it to the wall. We spent the rest of the day cleaning up the floors where the carpeting is going in so it is ready for Friday. It was a beautiful day here, also ended cleaning up the yard from all the debris left over from winter.
