I was driving in my car today and was listening to my mp3 player and the song " I fought the law and the law won" by the Bobby Fuller four came on and it brought back so many memories! It was the first record I remember that I was enamored with. I'm not sure if it was the song itself or the fact that Bobby fuller committed suicide. When you are young some ghoulish story of suicide is fascinating. Whatever the reason was for me liking the song, after forty something years, It's still a great two and a half minute one hit wonder! I'm not sure if it was my sister's or brother's record, I just remember playing it on the record player in the kitchen. I can still see that 45rpm record with a red label turning around and around. I'm thankful that we came from a family who loved music, and basically let us listen to the music we liked. It has brought a lifetime of joy!

It was mine, and I loved it too! Didn't realized we shared that particular memory!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was you, but time makes you a little cautious about details!
ReplyDeleteI didn't think it was mine but you're right. It was a great song. I agree with you saying that Mom and Dad let us enjoy the music we liked but I still remember Dad saying"Lady Jane my ass" haha
ReplyDeleteI don't get it, why did Dad say that?
